Zoe Marie Dixon Dies After Merthyr Tydfil Attack

South Wales Police are treating the death of Zoe Marie Dixon as a homicide after she died in hospital following an assault at a home in Merthyr Tydfil.

Dixon, 35, was taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff after emergency services were called to an address in Rocky Road, Penydarren, shortly before midnight on 15 June.

Police said she died on 22 June despite the efforts of medical staff.

Dixon was a mother of two and lived in Merthyr Tydfil.

Her death has led to a domestic-related homicide investigation.

A 39-year-old man was found dead in the early hours of 16 June at Pontsticill Reservoir in Bannau Brycheiniog National Park.

He has been named in reports as Nathan Thomas.

Police have said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation.

Police Treat Case as Domestic-Related

The case began as a serious assault investigation before Dixon’s death was confirmed.

South Wales Police said her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Reports said Dixon was attacked at the family home before the man later found dead left the scene.

Police have not said they are seeking any additional suspect.

That does not reduce the seriousness of the investigation.
