A coroner has opened an inquest into the death of an 18-year-old woman who suffered a cardiac arrest at a music festival on Anglesey earlier this month.
Coroner Suspects Unnatural Cause
Lucy Ellen Halpin, from Bangor, Gwynedd, died on July 11 after attending the Tonnau festival near Llanfaethlu.
Opening the inquest at Caernarfon Coroner's Court, coroner Kate Robertson said she had reason to suspect the cause of death was unnatural. A post-mortem examination is underway, and the cause of death has not yet been confirmed.

Emergency Call Came Overnight
Emergency services were called to the Carreglwyd estate in Llanfaethlu at 01:45 BST on July 11 following reports of a medical emergency. Halpin was taken to hospital, where she died at 03:18.
Festival organizers confirmed at the time that the event had been cancelled to allow authorities to carry out their inquiries.
Colleagues Remember Halpin
Robertson extended her sympathies to Halpin's family as she opened and adjourned the inquest.
Breeze Hill Bar, Eatery and Hotel, where Halpin worked, described her in a tribute as "exceptionally good at looking after our customers," adding that she was "caring, funny, clever and always smiling."
The inquest remains open pending the outcome of the post-mortem examination.
TheTrendsWire's Take
An open inquest with a pending post-mortem is exactly the point at which speculation does the most damage — to Halpin's family and to public understanding alike. The only responsible position right now is to report what's confirmed and wait for the coroner's findings before drawing any conclusions about what happened.
