Suspect Dead After Stolen Car Chase Ends in Highway 6 Crash

A police pursuit that started five miles away, over a reportedly stolen sedan, ended on an overpass with speeds that scanner traffic put at around 120 mph.
The chase concluded early Wednesday in a crash on Highway 6 near the Westpark Tollway in Harris County, Texas, leaving one suspect dead and two others hospitalized.
How the Pursuit Unfolded
Houston police said officers began pursuing a sedan reported stolen from a Memorial-area neighborhood. The chase moved southbound on Highway 6 before the crash occurred on the overpass near Alief Clodine Road.
Video from the scene showed a heavily damaged vehicle and debris scattered across the roadway, along with a significantly damaged Houston Police Department patrol unit. Both Houston police and Harris County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the scene.

An Unresolved Detail at the Scene
Investigators believe the suspect who died may have survived the initial crash but was later found on the feeder road below the overpass. It remains unclear whether he jumped, fell, or was ejected during the crash sequence — a detail authorities say they're still working to establish.
Two other suspects were taken to the hospital following the crash. Police said the officer involved in the pursuit was not seriously injured.
