Murder Investigation Launched After Man Dies in Welshpool Town Centre

A murder investigation has been launched after a man died following a serious incident in Welshpool town centre early on Sunday morning.
Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed that a man was found injured on Church Street at around 1:16am and later died despite the efforts of paramedics.
Details of the Incident
Police and ambulance crews were called to Church Street, which is off Welshpool’s main street, shortly after 1am.
A cordon was put in place and a forensic tent was erected at the scene. Road closures remain in effect while officers carry out inquiries.
According to Dyfed-Powys Police, a 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
The force said there will be an increased police presence in the area over the coming days as the investigation continues.
