School Proctor Arrested in Child Sex Abuse Material Case

A tip about uploaded material led investigators to a school employee's door.
A 22-year-old proctor at a Victorville school has now been arrested and booked on $250,000 bail.
How the Investigation Started
According to a statement from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, the Specialized Investigations Division's Crimes Against Children Detail opened an investigation on May 26 after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding uploaded child sexual abuse material.
During that investigation, detectives identified Dylan Patrick Beckham as the suspect.
At the time, Beckham worked as a proctor at Village STEAM School.
Victor Valley News confirmed Beckham was arrested Tuesday at approximately 8 a.m. in the 16000 block of Jurassic Place in Victorville.

What Investigators Say They Found
Investigators said they recovered evidence that Beckham recorded lewd images of himself while on school property.
He was booked at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto on suspicion of possession of child sexual abuse material and lewd acts in a public place.
Bail was set at $250,000.

What the School District Has Confirmed
Officials with the Victor Elementary School District were notified of the investigation and cooperated with law enforcement throughout.
Investigators stated explicitly that, at this time, they do not believe any students from the school were victimized.
That distinction matters directly to the families connected to the school: the charges against Beckham relate to material and conduct investigators say occurred separately from direct contact with the school's students, based on what's been confirmed so far.
What Remains Part of the Investigation
Authorities have not released additional detail about the nature or extent of the material connected to the cybertip that initiated the case.
No information has been released about how long Beckham had worked at the school, or whether any other locations or devices are still being examined.
The investigation remains active, and authorities have asked the public to come forward with any relevant information.
