Ramsyn Eissa Charged After Manchester Stabbing

A man has been charged after a stabbing in Manchester city centre left another man seriously injured.

Ramsyn Alnour Eissa, 35, of Bury New Road in Salford, has been charged in connection with the incident on Portland Street.

Greater Manchester Police said the stabbing happened on Wednesday, 17 June.

Police and paramedics attended Portland Street after reports of a stabbing.

The victim, a man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Greater Manchester Police later launched an investigation.

In an official update, GMP said Eissa had been charged with two counts of Section 18 assault.

He was also charged with two counts of possession of a bladed article and one count of affray.

Court Appearance Scheduled

Eissa has been remanded in custody.

He is scheduled to appear at Manchester Crown Court on Tuesday, 4 August 2026.

The charges have not been tested in court, and Eissa has not been convicted.

Section 18 assault is one of the more serious violence charges in England and Wales.

It is used where prosecutors allege wounding or grievous bodily harm with intent.

The bladed article charges add a separate weapons element to the case.

Portland Street Remains Key Location

Portland Street is one of Manchester city centre’s busiest routes.

A stabbing there can create immediate risk for pedestrians, late-night workers, drivers and nearby businesses.

The official update keeps the case focused on the victim’s serious injuries, the charges and the next court date.
