Marta Kostyuk reached the Wimbledon semi-finals with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Jasmine Paolini, ending the Italian’s attempt to return to the final four at the All England Club.
The official Wimbledon ladies’ singles draw confirms Kostyuk’s quarter-final win and sets up a semi-final against Linda Noskova.
Kostyuk cut through Paolini in straight sets
Paolini arrived with the strongest Wimbledon record left in Kostyuk’s section of the draw.
She was last year’s finalist, seeded one place behind Kostyuk, and had already survived a three-set fourth-round test against Alexandra Eala.
Kostyuk did not give her the same room on Centre Court.
The Ukrainian kept the match in two sets and removed Paolini before the Italian could drag the quarter-final into the longer, physical exchanges that have often kept her alive at majors.
Kostyuk’s earlier route had already tested her range. She beat Emma Navarro in three sets, then Ashlyn Krueger 6-4, 6-4 in the fourth round before taking control of Paolini.

The draw now sends Kostyuk to Noskova
Noskova reached the same stage with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Elise Mertens, according to the official Wimbledon draw.
That creates a semi-final between two players who entered the quarter-finals with enough form to punish loose service games quickly.
Noskova’s run has included wins over Iga Swiatek conqueror Alexandra Eala’s section rival Madison Keys, Sorana Cirstea and Mertens.
Kostyuk brings a more direct pressure game into the semi-final. Noskova brings cleaner first-strike tennis and a stronger grass-court rhythm from the weeks before Wimbledon.
The official Wimbledon scores hub will carry the semi-final schedule and live match status once the order of play is finalized.
Paolini’s exit opens the lower half
Paolini was one of the few players left with recent proof of handling a Wimbledon final-week environment.
Her exit changes the lower half of the women’s draw from a section anchored by last year’s finalist into a semi-final built around players chasing a new Grand Slam step.
The WTA’s quarter-final preview had Paolini leading the head-to-head 2-1 before the match, with their last meeting coming in Cincinnati in 2023.
Kostyuk changed that matchup on grass.
She did not need a third set, a late escape or a scoreboard swing. She took away the Paolini comeback route before it formed.

Ukraine has another major-stage moment
Kostyuk’s run also extends Ukraine’s presence deep into a Grand Slam draw.
Her win should be judged first on tennis: court position, cleaner pressure and a two-set result against a returning finalist.
The national context still follows every major Ukrainian run. Deep Slam matches involving Ukrainian players carry extra public attention while the war continues at home.
Kostyuk now has a semi-final with a clear tactical edge to chase. If she protects her first-strike advantage against Noskova, she will give herself a real path to the final.
💭 TheTrendsWire's Take
Kostyuk’s win carries weight because it came against a player with recent Wimbledon final credibility. The semi-final against Noskova now tests whether this is a strong fortnight or a permanent move into the Grand Slam title conversation.
